For over 150 years since the first postage stamp was issued in 1847, our choice of images to adorn our letters, cards, and packages were decided by someone else.
With the advent of the computer age, desktop publishing, and new tools such as digital cameras the days of generic postage are over!
If you have a hobby or cause you wish to promote, a favorite pet, or a special occasion such as a wedding or holiday party to celebrate, you might wish to adorn your correspondence with a personalized stamp. For those with the necessary time and resources (digital photos and at least a cursory knowledge of computer and website navigation), it's quite simple to create a completely customized stamp from scratch. For others without the time or know-how, there are literally thousands upon thousands of ready-made artistic stamps to choose from.
We'll be featuring some of the most beautiful, unique, and creative stamps we can find on the pages of this blog, along with tips and resources for the adventurous among you who may want to try your hand at designing your own.
